Grace's day job during this production was as a Nanny for special needs children. This inspired Grace to bring the idea of a Sensory-Friendly Performance of Seussical! to the 4 Community Theatre Board of Directors. After the board discussed and approved her plan, she single-handedly planned the additional performance, working with the Autism Society of Minnesota and a handful of other special needs groups to accommodate all abilities and needs. 

For this performance, they kept the house lights up, minimized loud or sudden sound/light effects, and purposefully shifted the expected theatre etiquette to a more relaxed atmosphere. This included the ability for the audience to move around and make as much noise as they wish. 

Grace also created a Social Narrative story to share with audience members via social media and a projected presentation prior to the show. Social Narratives are simple stories that visually represent social situations and appropriate social behaviors. Due to the success of the Sensory-Friendly Performance, 4 Community Theatre plans to continue to include these in their productions.
